A new opportunity has arisen for a Solution Designer to join the IT Information Services team based in Welwyn Garden City. The successful candidate will increase quality of integration designs by working with the business and projects to ensure accurate requirements can be translated into good quality design that can be transitioned to offshore.

Responsibilities:

• Pinnacle in the designing of solutions and overseeing these as they go through the end to end lifecycle
• Work alongside Solution Architects, other Solution Designers and also offshore teams within Tesco.
• Provide expertise in solution designs to project teams, Enterprise Architects and management.
• To work with Integration and Architecture.
• Produce solutions / architecture for Tesco
• Work with various projects to translate requirements into a technical solution
• Oversee offshore delivery and own the solution design from an information services perspective
• Provide insight and help shape the future strategy for Tesco

Skills Required:

• Solid Design/Architecture experience in IT
• Architecture development of J2EE or .Net
• Production of concise and accurate systems documentation and willingness to document standards and best practices
• Understanding of integration toolsets
• Ability to drive through change in a complex and challenging environment
• Ability to adapt and react quickly to changing priorities
• Experience of good leadership and communication skills in working with offshore technical teams
• Retail experience would be an advantage

Skills Desired:

• Exposure to at least one of the following:
o Ab-Initio
o BizTalk
o TIBCO
• Knowledge of more or more of the following:
o SOA
o Architecture frameworks i.e TOGAF or Zachman
o Teradata
o Oracle
o .Net
•Knowledge of one or more of the following would be advantageous:-
• SOA
