A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Group Technology and Architecture division within IT.

You will be Lead Enterprise Architect for Information and Integration. You will set the strategy, create the roadmaps and be an agent for change, guiding solution architects and designers to deliver great solutions for Tesco. This is a global role (multi-country, multi-industry and multi-channel) that will shape the future of Tesco.

Integration:
• Set & Govern the Integration Strategy, road-maps, patterns & standards
• Lead the Integration Design Authority to ensure patterns are applied in practice
Information:
• Set Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Strategy and roadmap
• Work closely with delivery teams to ensure we deliver against strategy
• Actively pursue and understand technological innovations
• Create, manage and own Tesco’s Information Architecture and the Corporate Data Model

In addition, working with Business and Technology Architects you’ll help to create and maintain global application, information and technical architecture roadmaps, and their associated standards. You will be engaged with and advocate the architecture roadmaps you have helped create. Communicating and socializing architecture strategies will be a key part of your role.

We’ll look to you to provide leadership to Solution Architects and work with our business teams to ensure that solutions meet business requirements and are in compliance with our overall architecture strategy and standards. We’ll also expect you to help develop exception resolution plans

Candidate Profile

About You

Ideally you will have come from a software development background, working in data and integration technologies, have gone on to solutions architecture and be able to see and want to influence the bigger picture. You must be a strong communicator and be able to put ideas effectively across to all stakeholders from board-level down. Most of the time you will be working with high level objectives and so you must be proactive in your approach and be able to deconstruct those objectives in to manageable tasks.

Skills Required:
• A demonstrable background in Enterprise Information Architecture (conceptual, logical & physical modelling)
• Experience of architecting and developing solutions in integration technology such as message based integration (eg Biztalk, MQSeries), ETL (Abinitio, SSIS), ESB (Tibco etc)
• Understanding of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence tools & techniques such as Microstrategy, Business Objects, Teradata, Netezza etc
• A background in Development (.net or Java)
• People management skills – you will lead a small team of enterprise architects

Skills Desired:
• Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Master Data Management (MDM)
• Event Driven Architecture (EDA)
• Architectural governance
• A formal Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework such as TOGAF or Zachman
• Experience in both agile and waterfall development
• Experience in working with distributed teams
• Experience in large multi-national organisations
