We have exciting opportunities to work in our dotcom business within a growing international environment. An accomplished Project Manager with people management experience is required to deliver circa £1-2 million pound projects as part of the international
expansion of grocery home shopping within Tesco.com.
The successful candidate will be expected to work within a matrix structure alongside an offshore team to ensure the delivery of design, tested code, appropriate infrastructure and to manage cut over and implementation. The work will be based in the UK with
occasional trips overseas for short periods of time.
The role will involve:
• Planning and leading IT delivery projects
• Working with the business teams within the wider international programme to develop elements of a common operating model that can be deployed in a repeatable way across many countries
• Working with country teams to implement the solution and to identify and deliver market-specific requirements
About you
First the basics. To succeed, you must combine a degree level qualification or equivalent with a sound understanding of technical programming.
Your capabilities should include;
• A logical and structured approach to planning and problem solving
• A proactive, self-starting style coupled with the drive to make things happen
• The ability to network and build strong relationships within a matrix environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work well with people across a range of levels and nationalities
• A confident style that demonstrates authority and inspires confidence
You will be experienced in delivering complex projects within a programme environment and will have sound project management skills. Experience of the following would also be advantageous;
• International project delivery
• Working with Agile / Scrum methodologies and with an off-shore development team
• Retailing systems and processes
• Order management and payment systems
• Reporting / BI
• Data management
• Planning and delivering infrastructure projects
• Managing and protecting customer data
• Programme office activities (planning, estimating & reporting)
