The new Step Change programme is being set up to improve the efficiency of the IT department, to increase the pace of delivery, remove obstacles to success and help us respond to the strategic challenges set by the new leadership team to be faster, more innovative, relevant and quick to respond.

This is an exciting opportunity for a project manager to be part of the small delivery team and get involved in the early stages of the programme and have a varied and interesting role working across the entire IT department.

The Project Manager’s role is to work with stakeholders in the IT department and across Dotcom to initiate, shape, scope and deliver stories on the Step Change programme backlog using Agile principles. Initiatives will be broken down into small parts (stories) to enable rapid delivery to keep momentum going. Some stories will be delivered directly by the project manager (e.g. process analysis), others will require project management of cross-functional teams (e.g. Infrastructure changes). The programme covers a wide range of initiatives so this is not a technical IT delivery role although an understanding of IT project delivery is required.

This is a high profile role and will suit an experienced, self-motivated project manager looking for a stretch role.

Accountabilities will include:

• Delivering service and/or managing other resources to deliver service using analysis and judgement
• Using influencing skills to manage resources to deliver stories to achieve the programme objectives.
• Managing stories through to the definition of done within the agreed timescale
• Engaging stakeholders, managing their priorities
• Mobilise appropriate resources inside and outside my function
• Understanding business needs and develop solution options, benefits and delivery plan
• Manage all Project capital and expenses within budget
