We’re always looking to improve our customers’ shopping experience in any way we can. In fact that’s why we’re investing heavily in IT systems specifically designed around them. Our in-house IT team are constantly putting their heads together and creating innovative, leading edge solutions that keep us in the number one spot both in the UK, and now more so overseas.

We are looking for an accomplished business analyst to work within our exciting and growing grocery home shopping programme. The successful candidate will help us to extend our e-commerce offerings both in the UK and overseas markets. This will involve building new solutions and extending existing offerings so that they can be used overseas and deployed in a common repeatable way. A majority of the work will be based in the UK, with occasional trips overseas for short periods of time to discuss country specific needs and support them with taking on a new customer propositions. In dot.com there is a very close relationship between IT and the business, where there is very much an entrepreneurial culture. We are always looking for new opportunities to exploit and are able to develop solutions rapidly on our new platform.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Work with the business to develop robust business cases
• Shape/gather requirements and analyse options through workshop facilitation, brainstorming and interviewing
• Challenge both business and architects to ensure solutions are best for Tesco
• Bridge the gap between the business and IT to ensure the solutions meet requirements and are best value for Tesco and its customers
• Interface with cross functional teams to ensure that requirements are understood and communicated and that all end-to-end elements are covered.
• Run and manage User acceptance testing
• Working with the winder international programme to develop a common operating model that can be deployed in a repeatable way across many countries

Candidate Profile

First the basics. To succeed, you must combine a degree level (2:1) qualification or equivalent with a sound business analysis experience. You’ll need a logical approach to problem solving, and the ability to constructively review solutions proposed by our development teams.

Operational skills

• Working knowledge of the software development life cycle on projects with a budget of a minimum of £1m.
• Working knowledge of Usecase Analysis, Functional decompositions, ERD diagramming, Data flow techniques, work flow modelling techniques and business process modeling
• Business process re-engineering

Functional areas

• Experience in eCommerce is desirable
• Experience of International Solutions is preferred (E.G Multi-currency/Multi-Language etc)

People management

• Interpersonal skills
• Strong communicator with the ability to communicate at all levels
• Tenacity to drive the requirements process
• Have the ability to work effectively with little supervision
• Be able to work as an individual and as part of a larger team
