This role is to:

• To ensure stability and performance of Software Applications which facilitate Tesco Bank business activities within a specific business function.
• To manage risk across the Bank's applications landscape for a specific business function.
• To help manage the Bank's Applications portfolio across a range of third party partners and service providers.
• To review and provide feedback on applications service delivery for a specific business function to ensure they meet service expectations and comply with strategic roadmaps.
• To be an active part of the Applications Management Team and ensure the success of Tesco Bank through a successful management of partners.

To do this you will:

• Maintain and correct issues raised within the applications landscape
• Manage stakeholders and 3^rd party suppliers
• Source ways to deliver better, simpler and cheaper IT services
• Lead and coach members of the team

Experience required:

• Significant experience of managing applications provided in-house or by 3^rd parties.
• Ability to manage multiple applications in a coordinated manner
• Significant experience of working with best practice processes
• Significant experience of working with 3^rd party suppliers
• Significant experience of operating during a crisis and major incidents.
• Experience working in the Financial Service Industry

Technical skills required

• Extensive Java/Java 2/JavaScript Development experience
• Experience of JBOSS
• Experience of Model driven development
• Experience of web service development
• XML development experience
• Experience writing custom J2EE applications and developing portlets

Knowledge/experience of the following would also be beneficial

• Redhat Linux OS
• Oracle Database
• Weblogic, Websphere
• Apache web server
• C++ development
• Tibco Designer/Businessworks/Policy Agent/Manager
