As a test analyst you will be responsible for:

• Designing test conditions that are based on defined business and technical requirements and ensuring a fully traceable test coverage
• The creation and management of detailed test cases and test scripts that are formed into efficient test suites
• Generation of test data to match the test case and test script requirement
• Specification of test environment requirements
• Following a risk based testing approach on all project engagements
• Creating utilities or harnesses to support the execution of tests and verification of results
• Executing tests according to the defined plan and schedule recording the results of those tests in the relevant test management method/tool
• Raising incident/defect reports for all unexpected test outcomes
• Providing clear and concise information on the progress of testing and the status of any defects/incidents raised - in line with agreed acceptance criteria
• Providing input to the overall plan for testing activities
• Providing detailed estimates on effort required to complete both test preparation and test execution activities
• Coordinating system and system integration testing: ensuring ultimately full end-to-end testing proves the operating model and delivers a production strength solution
• Working with the wider test and development team that could be split across different global locations

As a Rule Test Consultant you will be additionally responsible for:

• Supporting the growth of the Rule testing business
• Participating in activities that support the continual development of the Rule testing capability
• Sharing you experience and knowledge to help mentor and develop others
• Ensuring that the Rule testing capability remains at the forefront of testing good practice

Your talents:

• Proven test analysis experience - specifically using test design techniques to generate a sufficient coverage of positive and negative tests to validate and verify both business and technical requirements
• Experience in generated test packs that can be executed in the most effective way possible and following a risk based test approach
• Experience of working within an investment bank
• Experience of testing complex, multi-platform, distributed applications
• Experience of planning and estimating test effort
• Experience in the generation of synthetic test data to match test requirements
• A reasonable degree of technical competence especially around:
  • writing and executing SQL statements
  • creating and interpreting XML scripts
  • basic UNIX commands
• Experience of working with test management tools such as Quality Center
• Ideally experience of defining and executing test automation scripts using market leading test automation tools
• Understanding tests at all levels
• Experience of working in Agile and Scrum teams
• Can identify customer satisfaction gaps through regular communication and participates in negotiations
• Has highly developed and effective written and oral communications skills, especially influencing and challenging skills
• Demonstrates strong team work and focus
• Strong stakeholder management
• Understanding the finance infrastructure in large, global banks
• Has an ability to work at both the summary and the detailed level
