Description
The QA Engineer - McAfee Email Gateway will be working as part of the QA team testing the latest release of the McAfee Email Gateway, an SMTP and POP3 content scanning appliance. The role is focussed on the maintenance and extension of the existing automated
test systems. Duties includes:
- Maintaining and extending the perl-based automation framework
- Automating testcases
- Defining, running and analysing performance, soak and stress tests
- Analysis of software requirements and assessment of testing requirements
- Planning, implementing and executing tests, including construction of environments and automation
- Identifying, tracking and verifying defects reported by all parties; validating fixes
- Working closely with all teams, to reproduce, isolate and eliminate problems
- Participating in ongoing product specification and reviews
Experience
- Extensive Unix programming experience (perl, PHP, bash/shell, python, C)
- Extensive Unix administration experience
- Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP - routing, SMTP/POP3
- Strong SQL knowledge (postgres, MySQL)
- Extensive QA/Software testing experience over the full product lifecycle
- Test automation
- Preferred: ISTQB certification, UI automation experience, ideally QTP, Test tools - in particular Quality Center, Bugzilla
