Job DescriptionWe are always looking to improve our customers shopping experience in any way we can. In fact that’s why we are investing in IT systems specifically designed around them. Our in-house IT team are constantly putting their heads together and creating time-saving,
money-saving and energy-saving (you name it, they have done it) products. Right now we are looking to the future and the next generation of supermarket shopping. What is it going to look like?
We are currently looking for a Lead IT Developer to join our ever expanding dotcom team, it is essential that you have had previous solid experience in a developer role.
You will be expected to work closely with the UK and international scrum teams to:
•Create performant and scalable database schemas
•Create appropriate indexing strategies
•Write efficient Stored Procedures.
•Troubleshoot defects and help to maintain legacy systems.
First the basics, to succeed you must combine a degree level 2.1 qualification or equivalent with a sound approach of technical programming expertise. You’ll need a logical approach to problem solving, and the ability to constructively review solutions proposed
by our development teams.
The successful candidate will be expected to have the following knowledge and technical expertise:
•Solid Industry Experience
•Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL language and DBMS (Database Management System)
•Some knowledge of Reporting Services, Replication and SSIS (Sequel Server Integration Services)
•Previous C# software development experience would be beneficial, as would knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
•Have interpersonal skills
•Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
•Have the ability to work effectively with little supervision
•Can be able to work as an individual and as part of a larger team
